Happy Hallowe’en.

586 on the elliptical this morning in my 31 minutes.  Finished watching Cast Away yesterday. Started on Master and Commander this morning.  Another great movie.

Last night I drank far too many shots of scotch, with cheese and crackers.  Okay, the resistance seems to be low just before I go to bed.  What to do about that?  Anticipate?  Set myself up to do something other than eat bad stuff?  Think about it.  It’s not an unsolvable problem.

Phase 2 Week 9 Day 2 Internet Problems

So I’ve missed a couple of days posting.  To fill in the information:  Saturday was our usual Cheater Day.  We made it a good one.  Skipped exercise in the morning in favour of another bike ride to Starbucks.  The day included chou doufu, magnum icecream bars, Chinese food that is definitely off the program, yellow and white wine, and scotch.  The latter three items in response to a serious toothache caused by getting a temporary cap.

Sunday morning I did 552 on the elliptical.  Otherwise it was a normal day.

This morning I skipped the elliptical machine because I had to be downtown to the dentists by 8:00am and back for class at 9:55 am and that left no time.  I’ll be back on the machine tomorrow.

 

Phase 2 Week 8 Day 6 Weigh In Friday

94.4kg before the bowel movement.  94.2kg after the bowel movement.  Less of as difference than I would have expected.

Ruth this morning is 64.2kg.

Last week:  Ruth’s weight was unchanged at 64.6 = 142lb 6.7oz
I’m was down .8kg or 1lb 12.2oz from 95.6 = 210lb 12.2oz to 94.8 = 209lb

So today I’m down another .6kg to 94.2kg = 207lb 10.8oz
Ruth is down .4kg to 64.2kg = 141lb 8.6oz

So we’re both going in the right direction at least, though not as fast as I would like.  Still, going down.  And that’s good.  I haven’t been as strictly on the program since coming home for the summer.

My best weight before going to Canada was:  94.9 = 209.2 lbs.
starting weight 109.6 – 94.9 = 14.7kg or 32.4 lbs. total loss before the summer.

So I’m finally below the weight I attained before the start of the summer.

Ruth’s best weight before the summer was 63.1kg = 139.1 lbs.
starting weight 73.9 – 63.1 = 10.8kg. total weight loss or 23.8 lbs.

Ruth still has 1.1kg to lose before she’s back to the weight she was before the summer in Canada.

551 on the elliptical while watching another half hour of “Cast Away”.  Brilliant movie.  Brilliant writing.  And Tom Hanks in amazing.  I find the pace of the editing and the timing of the story points quite perfect.  It sure does take the pain out of a morning workout to have a good movie to watch, even if I’ve seen it before.

 

 

Phase 2 Week 8 Day 4 low energy morning

558 on the elliptical this morning, give or take a calorie or two.  I know the number was in the five fifties, but not sure of it exactly.

Hard to get up this morning.  Even harder to do the workout.  Our kitchen floor is flooded with what I hope is grey water from the apartments upstairs.  Hopefully somebody will deal with it today.

Phase 2 Week 8 Day 1

Missed posting yesterday.  We were in Shanghai partying it up for my 65th birthday.  Today we were at Jenny’s wedding.  We just got home.

I’ve had a terrible tooth ache off and on for the past two days.  Tomorrow morning I’m skipping classes and seeing a dentist.  Right now I’m drinking huang jiu and getting ready to post my update to themaninchina.com

I’m down .8kg or 1lb 12.2oz from 95.6 = 210lb 12.2oz to 94.8 = 209lb

Ruth did her 31 minutes on the elliptical this morning.  I slept badly last night with a severe tooth ache in my lower front teeth, so I felt no great urge to get up this morning until our friend Winkle arrived to collect her reference letter.  So that’s where I am.  Still barefoot at the computer.
